Each month we gather to hear about important projects or work being done in our community for the betterment of women and children. Today we were honored to have the executive director of Lifeline Shelters, Kathy Severance come and talk to us. Lifeline Shelter housed their first family in Grand Prairie on December 17, 2003.

Their purpose is to help prevent homelessness in the GPISD and they use Christine Gonzalez as their referral source. These families are about to be evicted from their homes/apartments and they need a ‘lifeline’. So this project was started by Kathy, Christine and Angela Giessner, a member of Soroptimist International of Grand Prairie. We are thankful for their services, and seen in the picture are Kathy on the right and Vivian, a caseworker on the left.
